Posh are heading on the road, and so am I!
Luke Williams and his players are about to embark on a run of five away games in their next seven matches, and I will be at all of them!
I have been to four of the grounds before, and so will be ranking the away games based on how excited I think we should be for our trip there.

Fifth place: Wycombe Wanderers
🐔 Miles from London Road KFC: 100

Posh have a genuinely awful record at Adams Park. Our last three league trips have consisted of two 3-1 losses, and that Nicholas Bilokapic 5-2 game.
Football aside, Wycombe is a horrid away day. The ground has no character, and is infamous for being surrounded by fields, car parks, and… nothing.
It is a pain to get to as well, with no easy train links, and the station is nearly an hour’s walk from the ground.
Once you arrive at the home of the Chairboys, you are then greeted by Bodger, the creepiest mascot in the whole of the EFL.
Top it off with an overpriced food stand which isn’t even under cover, and a long away end which is very difficult to generate atmosphere in, and you have a rather dissatisfactory day out.
Luke Williams has proven a miracle worker so far, but I think even he will struggle to make me enjoy my least favourite away day in League One.
Top tip: Skip the food in the ground, and instead stop at Baldock services on the way home. They have a fish and chip shop there and it is absolutely unbelievable.
Fourth place: Mansfield Town
🐔 Miles from London Road KFC: 72

I only have one memory of Mansfield, and that is being absolutely seething as Christy Pym knocked Posh out of the Carabao Cup on penalties, sending the away end into fury, and sparking an incredible Fergie post-match rant!
This is not an away day that I am looking forward to. It will be a cold Tuesday night, Mansfield are flying at the moment, and I generally just cannot be bothered for it.
The away end is actually quite nice, or at least it does the job. The concourse is a bizarre place, with that chainlink fence.
Even more bizarre than that was the lairy group of Mansfield fans who, on my last visit, came walking past the Posh fans in the concourse about twenty minutes before kick-off sporting balaclavas and being all round weird.
A strange bunch in a relatively soulless ground, Mansfield away is not the most exciting prospect.
Top tip: The digital advertising boards at Mansfield are notoriously bright, and have been known to give people genuine migraines for evening games. They also make it nearly impossible to see the action at the other end of the pitch.
If you are somebody who is especially negatively impacted by looking at bright lights for a sustained period of time, I would seriously consider bringing sunglasses.
Third place: Bradford City 🥉
🐔 Miles from London Road KFC: 127

I am looking forward to my first trip to Valley Parade!
A big, historic stadium. It is one of the best grounds in League One for pure footballing feel.
It’s not going to be an easy trip up to one of the best sides in the league this season, however I think quite a few Posh fans will make the journey.
We play them on Valentine’s day, and my date for this year is hopefully going to be one of the lovely curry houses that Bradford has to offer. It’s spicier than down south, but so tasty.
There will be a proper atmosphere when Posh travel to ‘VP’, and the away fans are going to have to bring the noise to match the Bantams faithful.
The ground is only a twenty minute walk from the train station, and there are a plethora of pubs to choose from on your way.
I am looking forward to what should be a good day out.
Top tip: Valentines day in Bradford has been a tough sell for some of my friends who are in relationships.
A compromise they have found is booking a spa hotel in the surrounding area the night of the game, and treating their loved one to a treatment while they nip out for a few hours.
Second place: Stevenage 🥈
🐔 Miles from London Road KFC: 52

Stevenage away is always an interesting one, mainly because they absolutely hate us!
It does feel like there is an unrequited rivalry every time we play there, and I doubt this year will be much different.
In 2023/24, the 2-2 draw at Broadhall Way was an atmospheric affair. I am hoping for similar entertainment on this visit.
As I am writing this, Stevenage sit 19th in the form table for the last ten games, while Posh are third. We have a real chance of securing a win!
The away end at Stevenage is nothing to write home about, it is a classic, covered behind the goal stand.
The concourse doesn’t really exist, and there are usually massive queues for the food and drink, which itself is the standard League One offering.
That said, I love Stevenage away. It is very easy to get to by train, and only an hour’s drive from Peterborough.
Posh usually take a good following, and the back and forth between the Posh fans, and the Stevenage fans in that adjacent terrace is usually good fun.
I think there will be a strong sense of occasion, and am looking forward to it!
Top Tip: Vlogger and Streamer Pieface says that Stevenage does the best burger in the whole EFL!
I have never tried it, but will be when we go to Stevenage next week. I’d suggest you do the same and then we can compare notes.
First place: Barnsley 🥇
🐔 Miles from London Road KFC: 101

Call me crazy, but I am buzzing for a Tuesday night trip to Barnsley. I’d go as far as to say it is one of my favourite away games in the league.
The ground is nice to look at and they have a big pitch.
The away end is also massive, which is great because it means that you have loads of space to spread out, and nobody struggles to get a view where they want to.
The away end at Oakwell is great for atmosphere too, as the sound echoes out, creating an awesome effect.
There have been two fantastically memorable Oakwell trips in recent years. The 2-0 win, securing play-offs on the final day, and that lovely warm summer’s evening on which Posh came back from behind to win 3-1.
Both were excellent games, and have given lots of Posh fans fond memories of Barnsley.
The concourse at Oakwell is nice too! It is spacious and inside which is always nice on a cold Tuesday night.
South Yorkshire is a great place for football, and I am excited for the trip.
Let’s hope that Posh can carry on their great record at Oakwell!
Top tip: Plan your parking before you set off from home. Have a strategy and stick to it.
When I last went to Barnsley, we had no idea where to park, and ended up on a very sketchy, steep hill. Get on Google maps, and be clinical in finding a spot.

Ref Wycombe, there's a great burger bar just outside the main gate that does an excellent breakfast bap, not to be missed. 👍
