Lolos has signed a three-year deal at the club, after just one season at the Tough Sheet Community Stadium.

Who is Klaidi Lolos?

The 24 year old predominantly plays in the number ten position, but  can be utilised across the forward line.

He is a product of the Plymouth Argyle youth system, but was released into non-league as a youngster.

He was picked up by Crawley Town following the 2022/23 season in which he scored 17 goals for Oxford City in the National League South.

He rose to prominence following the 2023/24 season, in which he registered 22 goal contributions in 56 games in all competitions, earning a move to Bolton.

Lolos had a tough time at Bolton, scoring just three goals in 30 appearances. Evatt’s dismissal and replacement by Steven Schumacher has not helped his prospects and he was largely out of favour for the second half of the season.

Where does he fit in at Posh?

Lolos will likely play just in behind the striker as the most advanced of the midfield three.

The number ten position in Ferguson’s current system, previously held by Joel Randall, requires an ability to run hard, link play and have moments of technical brilliance.

His time at Crawley in particular showed that Lolos is capable of playing in this kind of system, making his signing a good stylistic fit.

Lolos also fits the age profile that Posh are looking for, at 24, with a lot of potential, and the ability for the club to potentially sell him on if he is a success.

He has experience of League One level, which will be valuable to add to a very young Posh squad.

My verdict

I am very pleased with this news. Lolos is a player who has the technical ability to excite fans, and solve the issue of a lack of creativity in the midfield area, something that has been evident so far in pre-season.

The League One calibre that he adds also gives me confidence that he will be able to adapt quickly to the pace of the game, and his systematic experience at Crawley should minimise the amount of time he requires to settle in at Posh.

Overall, Lolos’ signing is a big boost to the squad and I am excited to see what he can offer in a Posh shirt.
